S10 cNet Review

i know the S10 has been out awhile, but cNet just released their review of the player yesterday. The player received a 7.3 out of 10 and a very good rating. Summary below.

The good: The iRiver S10 features a cute, wearable design with an innovative, clickable screen; the bright OLED screen makes for easy navigation. The player includes nice extras such as an FM tuner, voice recorder, and alarm clock. It also plays OGG files and offers good sound quality.

The bad: The iRiver S10 is expensive, suffers from an unimpressive battery life, and doesn't support DRM-protected music. Oddly, it lacks support for JPEG photos. It may be too tiny for some users.

The bottom line: The undeniably cute iRiver S10 sounds great and is packed with features, but its lofty price tag and paltry battery life might be a deterrent for some users.

I thought it to be one of the more balanced reviews of non-Apple stuff to date, although they were fairly drooling all over the D2...at least, I hope that was drool......

I had one in my hands two days ago, very nice neat little unit, packed with features. I wondered how it was connected to the computer, and was shown the usb port thing, it plugs into the headphone jack!

I really love the design of the s10 and would get it in a heartbeat if I could afford. The only times I would use it though would probably be for working out or going on a short trip (if I only wanted to listen to music). It's realy, really cute though :]
