Re s10 and running,
It has no clip but the obvious two ways are either use a pocket/pouch in running shorts or use electrical tape and stick it to your shirt - it's only 17g in weight I've become a total fanboy. My only negative comment is the .pla playlist format. The only thing I've got to convert (without using the garbage iriverplus software) is ljconvert, great little tool that can be used in command line but lacking one option at the moment - ability to automatically delete the source .m3u playlist file. Re battery life, screen usage does affect this but think 8 hour claim is not unrealistic |

I've found that some of my USB ports shut down. Not sure why. The PC is coming up on 4 years old, so I'm sure that has something to do with it (XP SP2, etc etc). Unplug the S10 and reboot and all is fine.

Hi there,
If I connect my S10 to the USB port it goes into charge mode for maybe 10-20 seconds, then just says "USB Connected" which would be fine IF IT KEPT CHARGING! Damn thing wont keep charging until I either remove and attach via USB again or turn the PC off and then charge from the USB port. Does anyone know of a work around for this?? My firmware version is: 1.01 US Cheers |

I actually recently lost my s10 a few days ago, I found it like 5 days later in my pillow case. So note to self, don't ever fall asleep with it, because I went through allll my sheets and stuff and didn't find it, just happen to lay on my pillow to feel it.

New user with question
Hi guys!
I bought my first ever portable player (iRiver S10) a few days ago. I am based in Australia but purchased it at Bic Camera in Tokyo on a trip last week. It is super, sound is fantastic, but I have a feeling that there is a problem with it or the way I am using it. I am constantly playing it with the volume on 40 and many songs are still too quiet. What am I doing wrong? I am using Sony MDR-NC22 headphones but have also tried with two other pairs including the pair supplied with the unit and the problem is exactly the same. Can I correct this in any way?? Thanks! Cammo |

No, it's the lanyard bit that's removable, if that makes sense. The headphone cable forms the lower part of the lanyard. Why not just get one of the mobile phone lanyards and use that? There is a small hole on the S10 for that very purpose.

Volume problem
Hi .. I have a s-10 (FW 1.01 Au) . I have a problem with the device volume . I have to constantly listen to it at Max Volume (40) . Is there any setting i have missed or is it a device problem?
I have seen this question asked before but could not get any definite answers |
