S10 can properly charge by any normal USB adapter. The clix wall charger has a U series specific 5th pin that other devices don't use, I won't try if I was you.

I actually haven't seen this 1/8" Audio mini to USB type adapter or cable much on the web. It's basically an audio connector but with a third "ring."

It'd be nice to have an extra (one for work and the included one for home) so that you don't have to carry around this usb charger adapter everywhere.

So is this a standard thing that's interchangeable regardless of vendors (like normal USB connectors)?

I see that iAudio has a couple:

Me too, i would have one for work and one for home. I think than Iaudio connector will work on S10 because the usb plug takes power from the same pins and the jack 3,5 mm female connector porbably will be standard.

I would love to get one of these.

I would be happy to get an iaudio adapter and give it a try (I have already traced each of the USB terminals) but the website above is only for US residence. Has anyone come across a site that I can buy on from Australia?

I would just kill to have one at work and home as I am scared of loosing the one that I have.

If I buy two, I could send you one. Cost for me, including shipping to my zip, is $14.50. Shipping to you; I would just sandwich it in a small bubble mailer, weight <1oz, so by USPS.com it would be $5.25 for 4-6 days. Total cost for you would be about $13. Kinda pricy for a $3 item, but...

Let me know, either in this thread or by PM.

Cheers
Steve

hey all! you can get those USB one, they look like they'd work, but I recently got my friend from korea to order me this one:
http://shop.iriver.co.kr/product/pro...e=005000000000
it's a charger for the S10 and it uses AAA batteries so you don't have to be near a computer to charge,
cheers!

P.S. it's about $16

I want to do the same (I need a custom unit)

Do you have a circuit diagram? I'd probe mine if I remembered to bring it with me!

I just bought an AC to USB adapter for my iriver. it was around $24 CAD. It's by centrios - I don't know if that's a worldwide company or if it's just available in Canada, hope that helps!

I bought on ebay at 3 US $ an AC to USB adapter - as usual, chinese production- , so i can plug S10 to AC safely without having the pc nearby... don't buy them in stores that make you pay more than its real cost.

hth,

ciroops

ps. iriverstore on this site also has the minijack but a price, if i remember correctly, a bit higher - now is not available due to holidays...

@geokite: everyone should be good as you..

Do you think something like this might work:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/USB-SYNC-CHAR...QQcmdZViewItem

It's made for an second generation iPod but it has three rings.
Is the third ring essential?
