S10 + 1.02 firmware+iriver 3.1 = no no?

Hi there
Just wondering if anyone has the deets on the S10(n20?) 1.02 firmware and knows what its an update for ?what does it fix etc?as the iriver software has a "networkerror ' issue so no go there, not that im complaining my S10 works great and seems fine so far but just wondered what this 1.02 "fixes"?batt time maybe? I can hope!


maybe its a beta?maybe the iriver software fw update is broken cos theres no reason for an update yet?Anyone have bugs in their S10? I havent found any yet as i've only just got it last week

Yes I wonder the same. Or rather, I know it is not a beta, but the latest
official Korean firmware, as to download from the iriver korean web. Is there
a kind soul anywhere who knows some Korean and can have a look at the
official release page?:

Computer translation lets us down here. If I run this through worldlingo, it
assures me that I will get "Melon household duties functional addition". I do
not have too many melon houshold duties, so I wonder if anything else is
done in that firmware Also, much of the website is actually an image
with text in it, which completely escapes web translation.

So, please, pretty please with cream on top, Korean readers have mercy
on the longnoses and help!

Well fortunately we do have many Korean readers and writers here so help should be on the way soon...

Melon is a Korean version of a Napster, Rhapsody, etc... so that's what that has to do with.

After a bit of creative searching and web translation, I found out roughly
what the new versions do:
- 1.02: adds support for the Melon music download system. Nothing that's of
interest outside Korea; fixes the startup noise bug (I can't recall that, but
I think there was a slight snapping noise during boot)
- 1.03: fixes problems with Melon lyrics; changes the boot screen (to
something red that reminds me of the U10) and the shutdown screen.

So, nothing exciting. If you have nothing else to do, you could install 1.03
for the boot screen (I think it's nicer than the original 70s disco look).

Ahh, very helpful. I was trying to figure out if there was much point in upgrading the firmware, looks like not much really.

On a side note, any idea of changes from Plus 3 to Plus 3.1.2? Worth updating?

On a real side note, what's the deal with the massive delay/non appearance of firmware and software updates on the international iRiver sites vs the main Korean site? This puzzled me on my H340 for a while too.
