h120 cracked(ish) screen
First things first, I live in Leeds, England
I bought an IHP120 in Februrary (i think) from amazon.co.uk Recently a problem developed. A sort of crack appeaared in the screen and there's a major leakage of liquid crystal. The player will no longer start up, probably due to a short circuit. Now, I've read threads about people who have accidentaly damaged their players and got replacements, but I haven't done anything to it, ceratinly nothing i would consider "excessive physical stress", and anyway, it's always in its case. I have now e-mailed iriver germany 3 times, and each time have had no luck. That is, responses that I can't read because they're all strange characters, and 2 unelivered messages. Just find the receipt and email the company you bought it from.
It will show in your credit card bill anyway. This can be claimed under not fit for purpose under british trade laws. If you have no luck there try your local trading standards and citizens advice for information on what to do next. |

damnit! they still haven't replied. I've even supplied them with a pop3 style account address but still nothing. I've just e-mailed iriveramerica. Has anyone else had these sort of problems?

Thank you, iRiver America Customer Support Obviously it's the same as many other people have recieved, but unfortunately it's in America and i'm all the way over here in the UK! I tried phoning and emailing iriver germany, and jason jeon, but i never got contact. I even emailed iriver america and asked them to refer me to someone in germany but no response. I'm not even sure which email they were replying to, probably one of those automated things. Oh yeah, one other thing, they think i have a h140 when i actually have a h120, i dunno whether i accidentally pressed the wrong one when registering or what, but ill include a note in the package. thanks for the replies. |

sounds like what they told me to do. can't say i had to jump through as many hoops as you did though...

I dont think that theres any compatiblity probs.all US versions are black.I craked my player's screen after like 5-6 months of use andI just recieved a brand NEw replacement from iriverAmerica in 1 week. me so happy. please note i live in the us

finally got my replacement H120! I actually rather like the black version. I got a full set of accessories as well PS: I just discovered 'moodlogic' on the iriveramerica website, it's so much better than having to click 'update DB' everytime you copy music |

p4radox, can I just ask a quick question. I am about to send my beloved iRiver to America to be fixed because of a lack of reply from the European department. I was wondering if you used your old charger to charge up your new H120 as obviously you can't use a the new charger without a UK adaptor.

tdt is soooo much better, despite what iriver america say, moodlogic doesnt support wma tags and it always write incomplete dbs, go to tdt.soundforce.net or google tdt, much better, it trunctase filenames to within the 52 char limit if need be

Cracked H120 Main LCD
Hi there
Someone dropped a bottle on my H120 and the main LCD is now completely useless. It's not under warranty, do you you think iRiver will sell me a replacement LCD on its own as I can fit it myself? I have emailed them but had no response yet. I live in the UK by the way. Cheers Martin |
