Hello everyone,
I'm (mabye was) the happy owner of the IHP120 for almost 4 years now. But since yesterday, when I turn it on, it buggs. The USB connection mode won't stop. I was in my car when it happened... So when I got home, it reset the player. Nothing changes. I installed Rockbox 2 years ago. So I tried by skipping Rockbox. I entered the menu, but when I touched a button, it connect itself alone on the usb mode even if no cable was attached to the player... I tried to format it. It crashed at first. Then I format it in NTFS but like the player doesn't work in NTFS, I reformatted it on Fat 32. I works as a hard drive, but it won't work as a player. Now, I put the initial Firmwire on the root, but I can't get rid of it, because I don't have access to the menu. This afternoon I wasn't able to stop it by pressing the stop button... but now it seems to work again. The disk is always whistling. It seems to turn all the time... Did someone faced the same problem once? Or have a solution to try? Thanks in advance PS: Sorry for the language faults, I'm french... |

Sounds like the connection of the USB to the circuit board needs to be resoldered. I have read of this happening. I have also read of putting a small wedge in the unit to press on the USB so it would create a connect to the circuit board and work but this is questionable to me.

Yeah, that is a great primer on opening up the baby. I watched it once and now I have ripped open all 6 of my players. Gad, what the h do I need with 6? oh well, I think I am set for a while though I want to put in some larger HD's and repair one 140.
