I thought the H120 didn't charge from USB?

The seller likely has that wrong. Although the player can charge via USB if the USB cable has a dongle at the player end to plug into the power connector (Boxwave sells retractable cables of that type for the player).

The auction makes it sound like they are New In Box items - I've been trying to figure out for days where so many (I think he/she has had about 2 dozen listed recently) of these units could have been hiding for so long? Is there a top secret iRiver compound at an undisclosed location?

He has good feedback and seems to sell items of the same type and has sold iRiver models before with good feedback. The battery would be older but it is a nice deal. Now if some H140's would come up at that price and new. If I didn't have 4 120's and 2 140's it would be a nice thing to pick up but I have found if treated right they last a long time with the occasional battery change. What does concern me is that the hard drives used (connection) are phased out now so it will be NOS only and this will eventually fade away but I plan on using my irivers for some time.

Very true, but with CF Cards out now in 32GB capacity and getting cheaper, and with Rockbox now supporting CF, it is an easy swap for a dying drive.

But seriously, if you do buy some with the intent to sell, I'll take one from you ASAP. I'd rather buy from you than from someone I don't know on eBay... And in the process I'll buy one of the adapters from you too.

So are saying that there is an adapter that you can use in the 120 so the CF card can be used? That would be great, nothing to break or wear out. Where do you get the adapter ribbon?

I bought one H120 on ebay this week, so i guess it´s from the same seller you guys are talking about. I bough it with out thinking to much, because i´ve been wanting one for quite some time...i´ll just have to wait and see...

Got your PM Jeff. Definitely want one, thanks. Do you by chance have any remotes for sale ? Mine works, but has a slight crack on the top and it cuts off the first LCD line. I'm gonna baby the new IHP.... And mod the crap out of my old one.

BTW, I know that not everybody will want this if you're selling them, but I'd want you to check and see if mine was working before sending it out.

interesting packaging:

Plain brown box, sealed with an "iriver authentication" sticker on it. Can't tell for sure if the players are brand new or refurb (only opened one for a look)

In the box:

Player
Generic Earphones in retail packaging
Generic Black USB Cable

Definitely worth the $140 price tag however.
