Help with bad headphone connector on H120
I'm having a problem with the headphone connector on my H120. I'm increasingly not getting any sound from the left channel. It was happening about six months ago; I messed with the connector a bit and it was working okay, but the problem is coming back. I think its no longer able to make a secure connection. I'm up for just replacing the connector, but does anyone know where to find spare parts? I tried looking through DigiKey, but couldn't figure things out on my own.
The line-out connector works fine, but I'd like the headphone connector to work since its doubles as the radio tuner's antenna. |

Welcome to misticriver.
You may just have a cracked solder joint where the socket is mounted on the mother board. If this is the case you will probably be able to get away with remelting the solder. There are directions for dissembling your player here H1xx Internal Battery Replacement - MisticRiverWiki . I do have a sneaky suspicion that the solder joints may be under the lcd but you may be able to get them with a fine pointed soldering iron. The best place to get a connector will most likely be from a dead player. I'd try resoldering your players connector first and see what happens. Best of luck |
