IoGear GearJuice (portable battery ->charges)
Hey guys..
This is new... just came out http://www.pcconnection.com/ProductD...ci_sku=7918949 It's pretty much a rechargeable battery with 6 adapters that can recharge your phone or ipod of other devices. Great for camping (when there's no power outlet available, or going out of the country, or on a really long inter-continental flight). Output Rating: 5.5V @ 550mA, Maximum 8W per hour Battery Type: Lithium Ion Polymer Capacity: 2000mAh DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS HAS THE ADAPTER TO FIT THE H120'S? |

This looks like alot of other chargers out there that recharge at usb speed which is 550ma per hour. The only difference it has different connectors where the others only have a mini usb connecter. If you can recharge your h120 via usb it will have that mini usb plug for sure.
You may find cheaper ones for around $25 as described above without all the other connectors

I'd take that 2000mAh battery rating with a pinch of salt because it's a lithium battery which has a standard cell voltage of 3.7v, so to get 5.5v out of it there's either two 3.7v cells inside (unlikely) with cut-down DC-DC voltage regulator of some sorts, or more likely a boost DC-DC voltage converter that converts the 3.7v up to 5.5v.
No DC-DC converter is 100% efficient, for example http://www.dimensionengineering.com sell some great DC-DC converters of which the boost one can lose up to 40% power through conversion and the ones that drop voltage can lose up to 30% through conversion (higher ampage input is notably more efficient), on top of that when you convert the voltage upwards the ampage goes downwards, meaning more amp loss. You might be lucky in getting one of those Gear Juice units to fully charge just once your standard 1300mAH battery in your H1xx unit. I have a similar kind of pack which has two 3.7v 4000mAH lithium batteries in parallel giving 8000mAH at 3.7v, but a fair amount of that amp hour power is lost when converted up to 5v, I think I've gotten one and a half charges of my H140 with it's standard 1300mAh battery. It wouldn't give my Archos AV500 a full charge and that has a 2600mAh 3.7v battery. So far the best 'portable' lithium battery pack I've ever used for charging mp3 players & mobile phones (with an appropriate DC-DC converter) is the one on my electric bike, 26v 12Ah
