Anyone tried Sonnet battery?

Hi,

My iHP-140 is seeming kinda like it needs a new battery, and I've found your forum and discovered the iP*d 1G batteries work.

Has anyone tried this battery?

TIA.

Yes, oddly enough I installed this same battery yesterday. It physically fits right in. Gives an indicated 28hrs of playback in rockbox. I'm still discharging from initial charge.

As for the battery wiring. I unsoldered the old battery wires from the battery, and soldered them to the new battery then just put the player back together.
You'll need a T5 torx driver to disassemble the H120.

Have fun

LR

After 2 weeks the Sonnet battery got gassy and ballooned causing the player to lock up. With the pressure relieved it kept on playing. Guess I'll put the stock battery back in

Waiting to hear back from Sonnet customer support

Sonnet customer support is very good via email. They have supplied me a new battery, though they stated the iriver is not a supported player for their battery.

Hopefully the new-new battery will behave itself.

The same balloning happened when i used a Maplins one. I then bought a Cameron Sino which i have had no problems with since fitting it months ago. I have never heard reports of these ones ballooning but plenty of reports of other ones doing it.
