H120 No Sound - Headphone Jacks or Line Out

My iHP-120 was working great for about 6 months. Then it stopped out putting sound completely. Everything else works great. It boots up to RockBox and plays whatever I tell it to, just no sound out of the Headphone jack or the LineOut. It seems like it may be a hardware issue, but would both of the outputs go bad at the same time? I never dropped it, or messed with it in any way. And I noticed other posts where people complain about the headphone jack getting "dodgy" but it never did that, just stopped outputting sound completely.

Any input on this would be appreciated, I'm going nuts without my tunes.

My first guess would be a dead audio chip (see here for more info).
If you're up to the challenge of replacing the chip, IIRC they're discontinued so you may have a hard job finding one. However, check ebay or the Buy/Sell/Trade forums for other broken H1xx players with different problems (e.g. fried using the wrong charger, dead hard drive etc.) which you can use for parts.

I also had the same problem with my player. I first got the "dodgy" sound and then one side would go out before both sides just went silent. It turned out to be the earbuds. They just stopped working for some reason. I simply found out when my better set of headphones at home still worked perfectly fine. I then bought some Sony earbuds, and they eventually seemed to burn out too. I've decided to come to the conclusion that the player must be too strong for smaller earbuds and cheaper headphones. Try plugging in a better or brand new set of headphones to see if they work. You might just have the same problem.
