Solution to the lack of true shuffle?
Does the shuffle change when you add/delete any tracks on the player? Or does it just skip/ add tracks into the normal shuffle rotation when you do this?
If so can't you just add small unnedded files into the root and delete them when you feel like changing the shuffle?

well, as you add new tracks the shuffle does change (as it would have to, otherwise, all new songs would be entered to the end of the tracklist). Now, if you want a trully random shuffle, a better solution is prehaps load winamp playlists that you prerandomise. problem here is loading time, and it can take ages to load all you music. There are three shuffle orders generated each time you update you player. If you have alot of music, you might never find this a problem, but some do. Personally I do, as I think shuffle should be random, and I think that it will be coming soon as many people find this to be an issue.

I use WinAmp playlists which contain 4,500 tracks randomly mixed.
I don't find any issue with the load time (maybe a few seconds). To use this method, see here: Shuffle play isnt that random |
