i am wondering of other players have a loose connection from the charger cable to the h120? mine does not fit snug and the least bump will turn the charge light off. is this common?

even the connector to my homemade batt box seems loose.

It may have a cracked solder joint where the connector is joined to the circuit board. The only way you can really tell for sure is to dismantle the player and see if it come away from the board. it is a surface mounted component so shouldn't be to hard to repair.

it does not seem like anything is loose inside the box but more that it does not seat into the receptacle all the way. it charges fine.

Hmmmm...
O.K
I just checked mine and it has about 3mm of the chrome of the plug visible when plugged in. (Original charger).
If yours is the same and it cuts out on the "least bump" it would still point to a cracked solder joint in the player, or a bad (dirty) connection between the plug and the player.

That will depend on your soldering skills.I just dug out my fried mother/daughter board and I reckon that if you use this guide http://www.misticriver.net/wiki/inde...ry_Replacement then once you get the player apart and the battery disconected you should be able to get to all the solder joints with a small tipped soldering iron without having to seperate the mother and daughter boards.
It would probably be best to give them all a resolder (mostly you only have to remelt the solder not add more )
