Charger and FM transmitter

Hi all
I have an iHP-140 for 2.5 years and I have been very very happy with it, but it now looks like that the power cable is nolonger working, I checked the iRiver website and it looks like this is the one i need, but when placing the order I couldnt believe the price of P&P, I live in Ireland so it is not too far and they are charging 24 euro!! I phoned a local shop that sells iRiver and they said they cannot buy this lead either. Is there any sites (perferable in Ireland or UK) that sell this lead?
Also, I was thinking of buying the FM transmitter will this work on the HP-140?

Thanks in advance
Paul.

Hi Paul,

I'm in Ireland too. Don't think you'll find many shops stocking iRiver accessories, hard enough to find one's that even sell the players!

Best bet is to keep an eye on ebay or shops in the UK.
Check the site where I got my H120 few years ago, looks like they do acessories & components.

Select iRiver under Manufacturers on the left hand drop down. I see a charger there and they defo do FM transmitters. The iRiver brand one is pretty good if you can find it.

I doubt you'd get the charger for any less than 15eur, maybe 24 ain't so bad really.

24!! I wish ,that is just the postage, the total is 44 which seems a complete rip they could make 100 of them for that price.
I'll check out that site and see what they have

Anyone know, will the iRiver FM transmitter will work on the iHP-140?

Paul, you can use any electronically stabilized 5V power supply (not charger!!!) that can deliver at least 1A. There are electronic stores that sell them for a few Euro. But you will have to make absolutely sure that the polarity is correct - and stabilization is a must. Today, many regulated power supplies are switch mode power supplies, that is OK because they are always stabilized. Stay away from bulky cheap power supplies that contain a transformer, rectifier and a capacitor only. Read the description on the package. The iriver has a standard line-out, so all fm transmitters designed for a line-out-connection will work. In case of hiss-problems, read some of the latest theads.

I already have an fm transmitter, but I really like the look of the iriver transmitter, it seems to fit flush to the top of the player which would be nice and neat, rather than having long cables running from the player to the transmitter
