Unhappy Repair troubles

My 2+ year old H120 developed a fault after I stupidly dropped it. Sent it to iRiver support (Germany) and paid 140euros for a new hard disk to be fitted. Received it back yesterday but it wasn't my player! It was a "fully functioning refurbished B- good class player.." only it wasn't as the RH channel wasn't working. I've asked them to repair my H120 which is what they said they would do in the first place, am awaiting their response. Has anyone else had a similar experience and possibly a favourable solution?

There have been a couple of these reported in the past, just make sure you Jump up and down and yell until they do as you asked originally.
Thats a pretty poor effort on irivers account.

A quick update; eventually got through to service department by 'phone and was promised my player back, if they could find it, or a new one. The duff player was picked up the next day and I received what appears to be a brand new unit about a week later! It works and everything is back to normal

haha congratulations. I'm glad they actually sorted everything out for you. Because really, if you do complain, they really must provide you with your original player.

Does it appear to be a brand new unit? or is it one :s.

As far as I can tell it is a new unit. It came in the same packaging I sent the faulty player back in but there are no scratches on the unit, the screen is perfect and it had the protective transfer on it just like mine had when it was new. There's also a transfer on the side warning of the dangers of listening at max volume levels which I never had on my old player. I thought they'd stopped making these players some time ago.
