Question about formatting

I'm aware about the new firmware having format directly from player

but about formatting on PC.. this is what i gathered from the manual

and i'm getting confused..

look at the first and the last sentence..

CANNOT be formatted under diskmanagementutilit y in xp
CAN " " " " " "...

what the?

wow, looks like another terrific translation from korean to english. the only difference i could see was hdd utility and disc utility.

Well, that's one messed up manual I guess.....

If I was going to format, I would just use the one provided in the new firmware. XP cannot natively format the drive properly into fat32. If you want to get additional software, great, but otherwise just use iRiver's built in tool.

I have formatted the H120 within windows... and I think it was with the Diskmanager.... don't know why they claim it can't be done....?

This is for the iHP/H-140. FAT32 formatting in Windows XP limits it to 32 GB.
