I posted my iriver on the classifides section it just made me feel sad since it was kinda new(like 1.5 months) ah well atleast im going forward and upgrading to a 40 gig mp3 player!

Yes, the black case with the snap...... the new cases have velcro. Just seems weird that if it's so new, then why does it have the old black leather case (which is actually more preffered ) and not the new one?

got mine replaced not a week and a half ago, and mine came with the snap case. It's odd though, the two snap cases i have are different. The original one had a small ring around the joystick hole, while the new one doesn't. Also, on the new one, the leather has a different texture, and the snap is brass, instead of the silver-colored metal it was before.

I bought my H120 (iHP-120!) from Best Buy last week; it has the snap cover (not the velcro one), and the snap is black in color (not brass or silver like a previous poster.) BTW, my final price for it is $177.16! LOL

While I like it, I'm seriously considering an iSkin for my H120 - I altready put a screen protector on the LCD, and it's in the stock case, I just want to make sure I don't scratch it accidentally or anything.

i just need to find a good deal on the Shure e2c's or some better earbuds than the ones I have (which came with my old CD-based Rio MP3 player.)

i got mine from best buy (in CA) last week, and i have snap case too, with the black colored snap (not silver or brass either). i didn't know there were such variations...

i believe that all cases come with a painted black snap. However, eventually the paint starts to chip off, at which point (in my opinion) it looks better to scratch the rest of the paint off. The case I received in June had a silver snap painted black, and the case I received in early September had a brass snap painted black. Also, the texture of the leathers was very different. The new one has a softer, smoother texture, which I personally like better.

Now that you mention it, I looked at the snap on my case - the black paint is *ever* so slightly worn already, and I can see the brass color beneath it (albeit only VERY slightly.) IMHO it's not a big deal; while the stock leather case is "sufficient", I'm ordering an iSkin (in black, to match my player) in the next week or so.

Me too bought the H120 from Bestbuy this past weekend ($208 for me). Mine has the snap buttom on the case plus firmware v1.3. Is my iriver super old? My player logo is still "iHP120", is the newer iriver suppose to have "H120" instead?

No, I think all the iHP-120 units say that, the "H120" was just a name change, to make it conform to the newer players name.

When I got mine from BB it had the 1.3 firmware as well - upgrade the firmware to 1.60.
