Return to Playlist when powering up with H120???

Until iRiver gets us a true random shuffle (hopefully in May according to their announcement), I'm accomplishing this by using a randomized playlist of the 3000 or so tracks on my H120. Unfortunately, when I shut the player off, when I restart even though I have the "Resume" setting checked, the playlist does not reload. For example, if I'm 150 songs into the Playlist, listing to a Clash song and I power the player off, when I return, I'll go back to the Clash song I was listening to (the Resume setting works), but the Playlist the song is in is not reloaded. When that song ends, the next track played is the nect Clash song in that folder. I have to reload the Playlist manually and (worse) manually scroll over to where I left off- which can be frustrating with a 3000 track list as you can imagine...

Is there a setting that allows me to keep the playlist order even when I power down and then back up again?

This is frustrating. I know other players will let me listen to music the way *I* want to, so I know it's not a matter of asking for the impossible...

Hmm...I thought this problem was solved with the 1.40 v. firmware. I'm personally not a 'playlist person' myself, so I can't say exactly what the story is.

Ah... that's the issue. I'm still using the factory-installed 1.17 firmware.

I was JUST wondering if there were any benefits to upgrading it (I'm wary about firmware upgrades- have had issues with other devices and I don't usually upgrade critical files unless necessary just to be safe).

As always, Sweet Spot comes to my rescue! =)

What did you search on? I tried "Playlist" and "Playlist Resume" before posting, and didn't see anything that obviously addressed this particular issue (but I may have missed it). I wasn't thinking about a firmware solution- I was thinking I had a setting wrong, which is probably where Iwent astray. Thanks, again!

I just tried it and it works Imago. When you press Stop, do you notice the Playlist icon still on the screen (next to your total songs number)?

EDIT:
Just noticed you have the old firmware.
