New User - iHPTool and Database Question

Hi

My 140 arrived today and a few minutes playing with the remote showed me this is the way I will be using the beast. Have played around listening to some Allison Moorer and Rush at ogg q 6 and I'm delighted with the sound through my MX500s. Now to rip my Cara Dillon CDs so I can listen before the gig on Thursday.

Anyway, I've been reading the faq about using iHPTool to create a database file that includes ogg files. It mentions the need to delete the
iRivNavi from the HP140 before using the software but I don't have such a file on my player. Is that a file that's put there if you use the default software and am I therefore safe to not worry about it?

Yeah that file appears when you first run the database thingy that comes with your player that enables you to have a database of all mp3 files. so since youve never run it there is no navi file. so just go ahead and run ihptool. it will work fine.

The important thing to remember is to not touch anything while iHPTool is running - just sit back and let it do its stuff.
Oh, and make sure the iHP is running off the mains... you don't want a battery running low while the database is half-built!
