Gapless playback?
Hi,

I am a newbie. What exactly is Gapless Playback? Why people want them so bad? I rip all my mp3 from CD? Do i need them? Thanks.

gapless, is like on a compilation cd where there is no silence between tracks. I.E no 2 second silence in playback while one track ends and the next one starts.

You know some albums like to blend the end of one track into the beginning of the next...some people get annoyed by a break in what should be a continuation. HTH

The lack of gappless can be clearly seen on a live album (CD) during playback. You hear the applause and for a second or so it stops and there is silence. It is also seen on albums produced by the likes of Pink Floyd where the tracks all are blended into one continous song.
