Finally, a reply from iRiver on my remote paint.

Well, I eventually got a reply on my iRiver remote issue, the one with the paint flaking off the trim. ( See my user-gallery for a pic )

This is about 2 days after I sent a 2nd email, I suppose with the site re-vamp, they also must've re-vamped their support staff as well.

Anyways, the reply is as follows.

Quote:
Thank you for contacting iRiver America.

I have never heard of this issue, we can have you send in the remote & then
we can cover your remote under warranty.
I will first need the following information, in the following order.

1. Full Name.
2. Shipping Address. ( street, city, state & zip code )
3. Contact Phone #
4. Model iHP-120 remote
5. Purchase date.
6. Issue that you are encountering. (paint is faulty )

I look forward to your response,

Best regards,

Raul Montes

I was in contact once with this Raul dude....he was not too sure of the exact time in his time zone.

I am a bit suprised he did not offer to send you some touch-up paint.

Oh well, as long as the issue is getting dealt with, I sent my first email about a month ago and had no reply, so I decided to send a second one after seeing how quickly everyone else was getting replies, I guess it worked.

iRiver seems to be getting better at this whole "listening" thing.

Well, a little update, an amazing 4 days after I sent my second email I now have an RMA number for my remote. Kudos to iRiver support for getting their asses in gear lately.

Now if only the firmware devs would do the same.... :P
