PANIC: won't play files anymore

Aaarrgggh,

my first problem with my IHP. I just mentioned that I edited the tags of a bunch of files with MOOSIC. Then updated the IHP. Now wanted to play something, but the IHP won't play it. My computer (Windows Media Player) does, though.

How can I check the consistency of my MP3s and whether the player will play them in the future?

Cheers

Phew, got it sorted out: MOOSIC seems to have corrupted the tags, and Godfather sorted it out again.

Strange, though, that it played on my PC but not on the IHP.

Were you playing WMP off the iHP files or unknowingly off copies on your PC? It may be that WMP was reading a different set of files, without corrupted tags...I sometimes do this..mistakenly load up songs from PC without realizing it since my directories are identical.

No, they were MP3s. I hadn't been using MOOSIC for a while, since earlier versions didn't run well on my machine. Since there was an update, I decided to give it another try, since it is really good at inserting tag info froom freedb.com.

Guess I'll stick with Godfather now.

Cheers
