Iriver wont respond when connected plus other problems :-(
Hey, Im new on these forums but was so glad when i found them as i couldnt find any tech support on the website!
First of all, my iriver doesnt always respond when i connect it up, it says its connecte dbut my computer doesnt recognise it. I find plugging it in at a certain tiem often works but this time its not doing anything. Secondly, A few weeks ago my iriver said it was full when i tried to transfer over some files, when only 16gb were full, and there was space for another gb. So I tried wiping everything off, and re transferring everything all again (updating my database doesnt always get all my new songs on) normally i just delete everything off it then it goes to my recycle bin. But it wouldnt delete them as it kept not responding when i tried. Eventually it did then when i began to transfer my songs on again, after about 2500 songs it came up with a "cyclic redunduncy error". I couldnt transfer over anymore songs, bit annoying as i have 4500 songs normally. I tried this again to see if i could get everything on, and now its only transferred 900 songs on Its abit annoying as I want all my music on there, has anyone else experiences these problems and know how to solve them? I dont the warranty enables me to send it back, ran out i think, because of the deal I got on it. |

1. what OS are you using ? I'm going to guess XP. When i tried plugging my iHP-120 into my school's computers, it would work sometimes, and then sometimes it wouldnt.
2. What firmware version are you using ? I'm not sure what the issue is. I may be able to help more when you tell me what OS you've got, but i doubt it. If this post accomplishes nothing else, consider it a free *BUMP*

Iv tried resetting it and reformatting it, to see if it helps, and reinstalling the software. Its just really frustrating! Does any one know what a cyclic redunduncy error is? |

Look in the FAQs - there's one about CRCs.

ahh wow, last night i reset it, and formatted it and nothing happened (all the files stayed on) and this afternoon i did a quick reformat instead of a long one, and its working fine! Although I had to transfer each folder, one by one!
Hopefully It stays this way |
