Lightbulb Speakers

I'm after a set of speakers, so after reading everything on the web regarding portable (and I mean portable, no massive power bricks please) speakers for my h120 I came up blank. At this point I decided to search the entire misticriver site to see if y'all recommend any. To my horror and suprise there is basically bugger all on this subject other than complaints about how i-poo specific suppliers are.

So here,s the challange. Can any of you point me in the direction of a good set of porties at no more than the £80 ($125) that can be bought or imported into the uk. Oh and they should also have the capability to run on batteries as well as ac/dc (I travel a lot)

Answers via the usual route (here) and lets try to make this as definative as possiable.

Actually, this has been covered all too often.

Generally the Creative Travelsound speakers are good, as are cheap Sony ones.

Well you have a couple options:-

-JBL On Tour
-Altec Lansing In Motion iM4
-Creative TravelSound Series
-Logic3 i-Station
-Pacific Rim Cube Travel Speakers

Anyway there are a few. Now before you say anything, i know.....they're very "ipxx" like coz if them being white and all, but these are supposably some of the good ones out there. Of course i'm no expert in any travel speakers. Maybe others can help you out about it. I'm just giving you an idea what's out there. the Creatives get good praise. You may wanna check out the others.

IMO i reckon the Cube Travel speakers or the On Tours look very portable. Read good reviews on em' aswell.

EDIT: found these aswell.......-Virgin Boomtube EX. But my word they're expensive. $199.

i've got a jbl on tour and they work beautifully. the cover slides nicely over the grills, and there's a little window in the middle for the jbl logo =P volume control and on/off easy with the touch of a button (or two buttons). press either + or - to turn on, press both to turn off/mute. run on either four AAA's or AC power. comes with a long line-in cable of matching colour. it's really ipod-y though. good sound, a so called "mini-subwoofer" in a hole in the back. not too convenient if you're planning on listening to it while carrying it around (like walking on the streets and such). fills rooms nicely, but don't expect them to be as powerful as your computer speakers. don't expect to use it to play pump-up music before a basketball or volleyball game inside a gymnasium...isn't quite loud enough =P perfect for when taking showers, though some may be cautious about humidity and electric shock, but that's a given. i was once in your position and now i'm glad i got these =D

I can vouch for the JBL On Tour speakers. Bought a set for my holidays and they sounded ace!
