IHP-120 formatting HD (seems stuck...)

CRC errors prompted me to copy my IHP files to my computer, and format.

Perhaps the poor iRiver is stuck. It's been on 12% for a long time (an hour or so). The drive light is on, and I have placed the player to my ear -- I can hear the drive making repetitive clicking noises. Click, click, click, cli-click....

Sounds more or less like a floppy being formatted -- albiet very quiet.

Anyone think this is normal?

How long should I let this continue before giving up and trying for an RMA?

Usually means a dead drive, in my general experience.

What are you using to format it?

you can try using swissknife to format it. Otherwise, an RMA would probably be the only option.
