Help..HP140 frozen even after reset
Does this mean my ihp140 is dead?
Whilst starting up it freezes at "read file system". I have pressed the reset a few times and it still sticks. I tried connecting the usb but still no luck...doesn't come up as a device at all in windows. It is running 1.60E firmware. Has anyone else had this happen? |

I fixed it!!!
I reset it with the hold on and when it came back on it went to the hold screen and switched off. Then when I restarted it worked as normal. Come to think of it I may have read someone else coming up with this solution but I couldn't find it when i searched the forum...probably because I wasn't thinking clearly!! I bought it in the UK but am working in Saudi Arabia. The thought of being without my music till Xmas (when I return to UK) was too horrible to contemplate!!! |

Glad to hear you fixed it. I'm sure others will encounter a simliar problem along the way, and your success will be theirs as well.

Mine froze too!
Thanks for the tip. Mine froze too! I have a week old iHP-120. I installed the 1.60 firmware a couple of days ago. Last night I did the Scan DB and after that when I tried to use the db it froze. I ended up deleting the db when I got it back up and running after reading your post. I'm wondering if the firmware caused it or if I did something wrong.

I've also had this & tried so many times to re-set that I think I've knackered the re-set button. Hard not to though when you have to use a pin...
Anyhow, I ran mine until the battery died and when it was charging again it started up ok. Phew ! |

In my experience of having the player freeze up and then freeze again after pressing the reset button and then figured out the hold button technique, it was a corrupt mp3 that caused the freeze in the first place, copied over from a scratched CD (used to have an mp3 CD player before) it was damaged during the copy and the iHP-140 choked on it.

Mine froze yesterday as well. Similarly, it was a few days after I installed the new firmware (Korean version). I got it to work by pressing the power button and the reset button at the same time. Got me pretty worried for about 30mins. Only 1 month old H120. I've since installed the US version of the firmware... but not really sure if that caused the problem.
