Iriver car dock

Hi,
does anyone know if those ipod docking stations for cars, (the ones where you can use your car stereo to control the player and the sound goes through the actual stereo rather than the tape deck) can be used with an H100 series player? Are there any which can?

Thanks very much.

As far as I know these are iPod only.. unfortunately.

I can't believe being iPod compatable is a selling point for a BMW! That's silly.

The iPod has a special connector on the bottom that pretty much allows complete access to everything (audio out, function controls, power input, ect.) except maybe the LCD information. Personally, I think that is a brilliant idea.

It's not completely outside the realm of possibility that something like that could be made for the iHP, but it would be a total octopus (kind like what I use in my car now!)

So far, no one has reverse engineered the remote control, which would be a huge step toward things like that as well as a wireless remote. I can't believe that a wireless IR remote is not available for the iRiver players. This seems like a no brainer to me as I often use my iHP as a component in my stereo system. Coupled with the fact that they seem to use the same remote for everything these days, it shouldn't be that difficult.

Hey man, you are talking about a company that managed to convince it's customers that an external floppy drive can be a fashionable accessory!

Sorry to hijack this thread. The P.I.E. connector in SRGilbert's great looking install is exactly what I am looking for to go into my 2004 Honda Civic Type-R.

P.I.E.'s american distributors will not ship to the UK. Does anyone know a company that will?

Try looking at this site http://www.connects2.com/. They have all sorts of adapters and may be of use and they are in the UK.

Regards
