Where did my DB stuff go?

I made a DB of my iRiver using the ihp tool- all was well- I had the ability to play via Artist, Album, Genre, all of that. Then I updated to 1.40 to take advantage of the "Return to Playlist" feature.

Now, however, I just tried to play via Genre, and my DB options are gone- when I hit the menu butting I return to the default folder view. I made a fresh DB with the ihp tool (in case it had be corrupted ot something) but still no dice. What's happening?

You need to turn DB Scan back to on after a firmware upgrade.

It is in the general menu.

Not to be impolite but please briefly check the manual when you have problems.
More helpfully: the DB Scan option is probably turned off. Go into Options (long press of the joystick), go into General, scroll down to DB Scan, "tick" make the Yes box. Go back to the home screen "XXXX Files, XXXX Folders". Switch the iHP off and switch back on again. Shazam!

Thanks to Big D for the answer. I did not realize that every setting on the player was reset with a firmware upgrade.
