If you guys could do the same price for the USB2.0 sync + charge cable then that would be good as the functionality of the previous cable would be retained. The usb2.0 cable alone would mean carrying around the other cable for charging. If you guys could rattle up something there that would indeed be great and I would jump onto the offer. As it is the USB1.1 serves the purpose but the usb2.0 functionality can't be beat. Regards Kunwar |

Cool to find that Boxwave has done some improvements.
Still though I will have to wait to make my order. I still kinda want a USB2.0 Sync\Charge cable. So if Boxwave says that this sort of cable will be ready then I will wait some more. Thats because I have a USB charge cable. Actually I have glued the Charge and data cable to have them with me all the time. So the only drawback of this is that they take a lot of room. Please Cho by any means if the synch/data cable is ready post here to let us know. Thanks! |

the problem with enabling USB2.0 on a device like the minisync simply because usb2.0 requires decent shielding on the cable. in a thinner cable it is much harder to achieve.
i think that might be a bit of a hitch |

Up to today, USBII cable charger is till not available:
Thank you for your email! The USB 2.0 miniSync cables for the iRiver will sync data at USB 2.0 speeds, but it cannot charge the iRiver like the USB 1.1 miniSync cable. If you would still like to purchase the USB 2.0 miniSync, please place an order for the iRiver iHP-140 miniSync and include "USB 2.0 MINISYNC" in the special instructions box, and our Operations Department will take care of the rest. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns! Best Regards, Suzanne BoxWave Customer Service http://www.boxwave.com |

Hi Everyone,
I was thinking about getting the miniSync and Car Charger for my H340 as I can't find any other suitable car power adapters with the 5V 2A needed to charge the iRiver (Suggestions?). I know this was mentioned briefly before, but I was hoping someone could confirm for me if the miniSync can power the iRiver in the car after it has finished charging the battery?? or does it only provide enough power to charge and then let the iRiver run off its internal battery? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Cheers.. |

On the H3x0 Charging via USB and playing music are mutually exclusive. You can only do one or the other.
However, if you are connecting to DC in of H3x0 (can't be sure if DC out from minisync for H120/H140 will fit,) then you can power and play at the same time.

Thanks crypt@,
I was planning on using the DC power input and Boxwave have a miniSync charging cable listed for the H340, so I assume the DC connection fits the H340 even if it's different in size from the H1X0 models. My main concern is that I would like to run the iRiver off the power from the car adapter rather than use up the battery while on long trips (e.g. Brisbane to Sydney which is about 1100 km or a 10 - 12 hr car trip), and Scaammm suggested back in post #61 that once the iRiver charges it starts running off the battery instead of running off the miniSync+Car Charger...does anyone know if this is actually the case or will I be able to use it in the manner I suggested?? Thanks... BTW I know it works off the AC Adapter that came with the iRiver I'm just trying to work out if the minSync can do the same... |

Doh - this will teach me to search first. just got a mini-sync yesterday and spent all evening trying to work out why it wouldn't recognise my H140.
I'd discovered all the same things - normal USB cable works, minisync charges OK. Unknown device with mini sync. works OK through a USB 1 hub. mini sync works with my Motorola V3 phone. So obviously no - they are not warning people on the web site. Anyone have any news on a USB 2.0 solution? I don't want to turn of USB 2 for my whole PC. |

Still for what it is (convenience), it is worth the $. Beside once the novelty has worn off, I can always butcher the plug and solder it to a 2.0 cable
