Consistant Headphone Problem
I have had this problem for a while, as documented in the first post of this thread: Loose cable , ever since I broke my original headphones probably 2-3 years ago.
After about 3-6 months of use the headphones start to deteriorate, and one side wont work, or both sides wont work. Currently, my situation is that the tip is positioned half way in the socket, which causes the volume to play at 50%, and me having to have the volume on full blast all the time, and rendering the clix useless in such situations as mowing the grass and bus rides. I have determined that its not the iriver's internal hardware, because I have used others peoples headphones and worked fine, and the broken sets of headphones also do not work on my computer. I think it could be me, I have a huge problem, ever since the accessories kit broke, of the iriver falling off my waist, and the headphones becoming dislodged. And after this occurs about 10 times, and I plug it back in the problem starts. Anyone have any solutions of even had the problem? I don't want to fork out the money for a good set, and have the problem occur with them. I regret not resolving the issue earlier, now that my warranty is no longer in effect. Any advice, no matter how little, would be helpful. |

Could it be a problem with the headphone socket? I was using my brothers new 2nd generation headphones today, hes had them for about 2 weeks. I accidentally twisted the tip in the socket (sorry I don't know the technical terms) and the left headphone disabled. I simply just twisted it back and fixed the situation, but could it be a problem with the socket?
