Hi,
I have a question for this Wall Charger Iriver sells at their store at

iriver America Shopping Cart

The question is:
-Can the player still play music and function while the charger is connected?

actually, it can. you just have to set up your clix to be in 'power and play' usb mode.

The OP is talking about clix gen 1 charger, not gen 2.

In the original clix1, there is no 'power and play' option for you to select, as it always is in 'power and data' mode.

Can it be a generic LG phone charger or does it need to be an official one?

oops... wasn't quite finished. What model charger? And will this allow you to charge AND play with a gen 1?

You can use either a generic or an official LG charger. But an official charger is around 30 - 40 USD and a generic one is around 5 - 10 USD.

I use a LG VX6000 generic wall charger, and car charger. You can operate your clix while charging with the charger, and same goes for the car charger.

I got my wall charger for 8USD, and car charger for 5USD.

Confirmation from Madrid/Spain: I yesterday bought a LG wall charger, well, it is called Travel Adapter. It appears to be an official LG item (because there is no other trademark in any place). Although it does not mention ANY cell phone model number, the plug for the Clix 1 did look exactly like the one of the USB cable. So I bought it (for 15.60 euros at Media-Markt, not a great deal, I know, but I did not want to go to 25 shops and do not find a cheaper one or run the risk of buying it over e-bay and having to pay in order to return it).

So I plugged it in and checked whether after charging for a short time it would resume charging which it did (another charger just made the Clix 1 say USB connected if I plugged it in with the battery not fully empty).

This morning then the Clix 1 was fully charged, with the corresponding message on the screen. I do hope the Clix 1 is not pulling my leg.

Thanks for the thread and the information.

EDIT: The label contains the following codes:

TA-22GR2 P/NO: SSAD0008812 For GSM phone. 5.2 V 24 PIN

And the charger is labelled:

LG Travel Adapter Model TA-22GR2 - Input: 110-240 V- 50/60 Hz 150-100 mA - Output: 5.2 V-----800mA
