Overdrive Audio Books No Longer Transfer

I frequently download audio books from the library to play on road trips (4GB Clix, 1st Gen, firmware: 2.00US). I am no longer able to transfer the files from Overdrive to my Clix. Here is the error message I get, verbatim, from the Overdrive software:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An error occurred while attempting to transfer "Book Title."

Error details: Unable to transfer the selected title because [Insert 3] returned 0xC00D2779.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I found that this error code means "The file could not be transferred because the device clock is not set." (Source: Error Codes)

However, my time is set.

I cannot sync the files using Windows Media Player 11, either (the error message says: It is not possible to sync because the device's internal clock is not set correctly. To set the clock, select the option to set the device clock on the Privacy tab of the Options dialog box). I CAN sync other files from WMP to my clix--music, podcasts, etc.

Is there anybody out there who can help me figure out what's going on? I have tried:
  • Reset All Settings
  • Format Device
  • Changing the time on the device
  • Attempting to download the files from a different computer
  • Attempting to download a file acquired from a different library

Thanks so much!

bizarre but true

Yes, I have seen the same issue on my gen 1 Clix. It happened to me around late November / Early December. I talked to iRiver support, and they suggested the usual stuff, no go. You should be able to set the clock on the device, but I don't think that's what is going on. There's two possibilities that I think might be affecting this situation.

First option is that there is a time bug in the iRiver code with Daylight Saving time, and that it just isn't resolving itself. As the issue came about for me after the DST change-over would have happened for the fall but not the spring, I'm not positive this is true. However, they might say ok, you can set your clock ahead if you want, but setting to an earlier time would look like you're trying to cheat the software. But that should have resolved itself over time, and for me it has not.

Second option is Overdrive has screwed up their files. However, I tried downloading a book onto my wife's creative player, and it worked just fine.

Anyone else out there see the same issue or manage to resolve it?
