Clix 2 8 GB Warranty Question

Hey Guys,

It's been awhile since I have posted here and thats because I was stuck in rut between waiting for Rockbox 3.0 and the 8GB clix to be released.

I have been waiting to get a clix for a very long time and I am very exicted to get my hands on it, but there is one problem. I'm only 16 so i don't have a VISA or anything I can pay for it with, so I need my dad to buy and then transfer the amount to his bank account.

I live in Canada and the only way to get the Clix 2 here is to order it online from the iRiverAmerica website (unless you guys know of a retailer?). And my dad seems to think that if I order the player from the States that when it crosses over the border the warranty will be void... unless I buy it from in Canada. I am extremely skeptical to whether or not this is true and I thought this would be the best place to ask.

I'm am desperate to replace my aging H320, and in light of the anouncement every second is an eternity without knowing that a clix 2 will be in my hands sometime soon.

Thanks In Advance

safest option: wait until Jeff gets it here with the international warranty.

or you could contact (E-mail or call) iriver America and ask them. One would think that if they ship to Canada then they would support those players

hey thanks for the reply

I was thinking about ordering from jeff if he gave a warranty but i was just wonder how long will it take for him to get stock in?

I think i might send a email to iriver to confirm whether or not it will void the warranty. I was very dissapointed that best buy doesn't carry iriver products anymore.

Stock should be in The iriver Store next week or so, hopefully. Jeff is finishing paperwork with iriver currently.

By the way, since iriver America is shipping to Canada too, of course they will cover the warranty for it.

Thats exactley what I thought. I think my dad might have thought that because it happens on ebay if you buy and elaectronic from across the border.

I sent an email fro the iriver estore about it and hope to get a response back soon.

iriver is very slow on reply.

Anyway, what your dad need to know is that iriver America is the iriver's office for North America, not just United States of America.
