Clix 2 not resuming playing after power off
Hi Guys
Quick question and may be a simple answer so apolgies if im missing something basic, but when I power off my CLIX 2, it does not resume playing where I left off. When i return to the main menu and click on the 'now playing' button, it does not do anything, and i have to manually find the song I was listening to and start playing it from the start. I have tried changing USB mode, upgrading the firmware etc. but to no avail, any ideas? |

i find this somewhat unusual. I have never heard of an MP3 player doing this.
I also own a Cowan D2 and a H340 and all of these resuming the song exactly where I left it after power down. The H340 remembers the song and video seperately. i thought a resume function would be relatively standard of a player, especially Iriver. Even the ipod (cough cough) has this function. Sleep mode is going to severely eat up my battery, particulary as when i turn it off, we are look at 8+ hours during the day while im at work and 8+ hours at night. |

Severely eat up battery? No, not really.
You are looking at 0.56% (hourly power loss from sleep mode) x 16 hours (of inactivity) = ~9% of daily power loss. An hour of music playback is roughly using 5% power, which mean you are only losing less than the equivalent of 2 hours of music playback daily. In fact, your daily power consumption (for 8 hours of continues music playback and 16 hours of sleep) is roughly 50%, which means your player should last at least 2 days. If you recharge it every other day (or daily), I don't see any reason why sleep mode is so unacceptable.

Hello Clieos,
Hope you help me again. have tried to convert a DVD with the new iriverter, but it could not complete all the 16 chapters. After the seventh it forze all the time. Then I converted it as a whole movie. After that using the ADVANCED option I mark the 16 points abd I manually splitted the movie. Everything work just fine, but after synch them to my 4gb clix the sound and the picture was not synchronized.( the voice was delayed )No matter how I synch.ed them. I tried to drag and drop them, then I tried the WMP11 as well. When watchinzg them on my PC, everything is all right. Please help! Thanks:Peter |

This happen very frequently after splitting video. The difficult fix is to get a video processing software such as VirtualDub to manually adjust the timing of the sound (which usually still end up very messy). The easier way is to change your video encoder to Badak or MediaCoder.

It is very easy to save current state to memory (you have 8 gigs) before you turn off the power completely. I was shocked that it didn't and have never had a player that behaves like that before. Very lame actually. I can't understand how such an obvious feature has been missed out. |

Yes, half a percent isn't much but it's still considerably higher than the proportion of capacity that would be lost. Also, given that older iRiver devices are capable of resuming songs after being completely powered down, it is rather incomprehensible that newer ones would lack such a basic feature. |

I was a little upset that I could not resume where I last left off. Even my older audio devices and PSP can do this!

I suppose I never noticed it before. During the week, I suppose I will leave it in sleep mode, as it will be charged every other day and I use it for about 6-8 hours during the day. Thanks.

Yikes. Wish I had seen this before buying my Clix2. I upgraded from an H10 that had no problem resuming playing -- in fact, it never even occured to me that by "upgrading" to a newer player I would lose this feature.
I love my Clix2 and this is my 3rd iRiver product. BUT... I can't imagine upgrading more if I keep losing features with each upgrade... |
