I have a dilemma...

...I don't know whether to choose between the 4gb Clix2 or the MEIZU M6 8gb miniplayer. I know both have similar features, but the meizu costs alot less and it has a larger storage capacity... help me decide!!

There is the 8 GB Clix 2 also. Same capacity as the Meizu. It has got very good reviews.

Its not available yet though! and it would be alot more pricey. Well I do have a U10, i hadn't had any problems with it and wanted to upgrade since it had dust in the screen, im afraid this will happen with clix2 as well though. and i love its customizable features too! but i like the meizu build because it looks more sturdy, then again im sure clix2 are made very sturdy. i dropped my u10 a few times (on carpet) and it was fine.

I'm Aussie too, so your not the only one in this dilemma...

If you order from the iriver store I'm pretty sure shipping is around us$32, so all in all about us$80 for double to capacity.

Also note that, although Meizu M6 is a good player for its price, it essentially equal to an outdated U10 runs on 8GB of memory (and with out D-click of course)...

M6 use the same CPU and graphic decoder as U10 (rumor says Meizu's M6 gets license from iriver for using those technologies). On the other hand. clix2 using an much up-to-date CPU design with a top notch graphic chip (in order to drive its AMOLED). Essentially, you are paying less for M6's 2005 technology, and paying more for clix2's 2007 tech.

Of course, from an pure consumer's standpoint, the question of 'which technology is better/newer' is not really the mainly point when both can achieve the same goal. The most relevant question is 'what suits you lifestyle better?'

Also worth noting, M6 doesn't works with any DRM file at all.

My goodness, where did you hear that? Can anyone here give us their thoughts on if this release date seems likely?

If so then I'll cave and get a 4gb. I've been waiting and waiting for the 8gb and if we're looking at a possible Aug release then I've had enough.

I am guessing there isn't a case included like there was with the first clix judging from a number of youtube videos i've seen. Can anyone verify this?

As far as I know, clix2 doesn't come with a case (the clix1 case won't fit anyway). However you will be able find many accessories for clix2 (much more than clix1).

As for the release date, I think we are looking some time mid July.

I'm pretty sure someone over at CH was able to fit a clix2 in the clix's soft pouch case that comes with it.
