U10: problems recognizing device to DL new firmware
Hello there
I just purchased a refurb U10 (512MB) on woot.com...and i wanted to switch it to UMS, but the firmware needs to be updated.
I plug the thing into a PC (i've tried it on 2 now) and the computer makes that noice it makes telling me i just plugged in a new USB device, but nothing else happens.
when i run the firmware update, it keeps telling me to plug in the device...well, it is plugged in.
anyone have this issue, and have any recomendations as to what's going on, or what i'm doing wrong?
i'm getting sad

hmmm...no...come to think of it, i put the CD in, but i didn't see a driver on it, just music library software...do you know what the driver is called?

yes, i am an idiot...i found the driver and now, it works!

however, i'm having another problem now. i keep downloading what i think is 1.6 version of the firmware that gives me the option to use UMS instead of MTP...but, when searching in these forums, it looks like i can't switch to UMS on this device...is that correct?
