I was considering purchasing a 4 gb clix today, but after reading some of the posts in this forum it really seems like the majority of people have had some sort of problem with it. From loose rattling screens, to clix's freezing, the clix seems to have a wide range of issues. It could just appear this way because people post threads on their problems, but I would like to know if you have had any problem's with your clix, and how long you have had it for. I wouldn't want to get this mp3 player if I have to expect a problem coming with it as well.
So, has your clix ever giving you any problems? Also, how long have you owned yours for, and what model is it (2 gig, 4 gig)? Thanks for any input\opinions you may give |

the thing is, people don't come to MR to talk about how their player is doing great and everything is fine, they mostly come here to pick up advice on some issues that may occur.
i haven't had a problem with my clix, except for one thing. it fell from my computer (about 50cm in height) and my volume button got stuck :-/ but, while waiting for it to get repaired, i'm using my old player and must say that i can't wait to get back to clix, i just miss it's amazing sound |

Yea, i noticed that longname. I saw the thread titled "What do you love about your U10/clix player?". But, it is only 3 pages or so of compliments, and i see 3 page long threads of complaints sometimes
A thing i would like to take into consideration is also its durability, if buttons get stuck because it drops 50 cm then i would rather just get a 4 gig nano. I saw a video of one of those getting run over by like a truck and it was still working fine. The reason i was thinking of getting the clix was because of the insane features it has compared to the nano, but i'm kinda confused what to do now. hi madhasan90
I would say that there is no smoke without a fire. Some people look for solution to problems that do exist. The clix has great features but it has flaws too. Mine does at least. Here are some of them: - very very loose screen (it seems it is going to break and ratle all the time) - high level of static in the tracks blanks (regardless of the track played and the sound level: I use it at sound level six with Ultimate ears superfi 5 pro, so it cannot be the earphones or the high sound level) - Odd very loud noise (there is a post about that: Loud Static !!) - Windows / Windows media player dependant (I consider that as a flaw) apart from this? This is a great device, with lot of feature. If you are ready to accept the fact that it has some defect, well go for it. |

i'd always choose clix over nano. it's cheaper (at least mine was), has a wonderful display, it's very compact, it's not overrated as ipods are, can reproduce video (which is actually quite comfortable to watch), it has great sound, fm radio, etc... |

i own a 4gb. the only problem i really had was with the off/sleep issue (which has sort of been solved -- restarting with the hold switch on).
i don't think there is a board anywhere for any player where you can't find numerous posts about 'issues'. the clix, like other pieces of electronics, is no different. i've owned an ipod, zen, and now a clix. even in its early stages, the clix still has no more issues than the other two, at least in my experience. i could go on for days about how great the clix is. yes, it has issues, but the positives far outweigh the negaives in my opinion (i couldn't say the same for the zen or ipod). besides, the best way to find out is to buy one. if you don't dig it, return it. |

I was looking at either the Sansa e2xx or the Clix, and ended up getting the 4GB Clix. My screen's not loose, my battery life seems normal, it syncs fine, and it's never frozen (ok, I've only had it since Christmas). The Nano was never an option for me b/c I really wanted a built-in FM radio. I wish the Clix had a user replaceable battery like the Sansa, but I went for it anyway because of what I read in terms of sound quality, navigation system, and FM radio reception. Actually, discovering that Mistic River could service the battery made my decision a little easier.
In all honesty, if the Nano had a built-in FM radio, I probably would have gone with it. There are so many things built for iPod--accessories and software--it just seems like it would bit easier to own. Like, there is nothing out there for us like iTunes, which has built in podcasting. I also wish I could resume my podcasts from the point I last stopped at (not sure if a nano can do this either, though). On the other hand, I can enjoy Overdrive Audio Books from my library, while iPod users cannot, because it uses Microsoft's DRM system. If I were so inclined, I could get music from a wide variety of on-line music stores. The one thing that is truly lacking from the Clix is a one-piece wall charger. Bottom line: I think I made the right choice. Hope this helps with your decision. |

IEMs are very efficient, so therefore some of them are also extremely acceptable to static. The only way to deal with static is to design a properly grounded circuit, and trust me it won't fit into clix's plastic shell. This is not unique to clix as the 5th gen. ipod has the same probelm (check their forum).

If it's worth anything, I haven't had any problems at all with my U10, which I've had for nearly a year.
I'm seriously considering buying an 8GB Clix 2 when they're available.

I'm hoping I get to see either the 8gb Clix or the W10 in the flesh. Mighty tempting....

I didn't think you were a fan of flash players? Or have I got it wrong?

I have to agree with you, my dad bought a nano and wanted me to set up some audiobooks on him. Itunes SUCKS so badly. I heard wmp 11 is great for syncing, so I am looking forward to that. |

Not when they're done well. Both versions of the Clix, the S10, and what the new players seem to be are serious pieces of equipment, as opposed to that S7 joke of a POS.... What I generally rail against is the abandonment of the HD market.

Oh come on, I know that you loved the S7. Peeing dog, remember?
