The loose screen issue

We've seen several comments about loose screens on the clix but nothing really conclusive as to whether it's supposed to be like that. So I thought it would be interesting to see some numbers on how widespread this issue is.

Mine is a little loose and rattles when I tap it. However it clicks properly on all four sides and everything is working as it should.

1 hand up for a slightly loose screen- has a bit of play in it (but doesn't rattle).

That depend on how you define loose.
(You might want to put your player spec. under 'User CP> Edit Option>Thread Display Options' instead of using it as signature)

With mine I'm essentially comparing it to a friends U10, which has a screen very tight in place (no play in any direction, but still easy to press buttons).

I was worried when I received mine and didn't expect the rattle, but it seems to do what it's meant to anway - click! I'm not so concerned as I keep him in his little pouch anyway. I'm more worried about what those dastardly little earphones get up to in my handbag! I lost a sponge cover already!

This is way too subjective to have a quantitative poll about.

Mine was originally tight within the first few days of use but now it definitely has some slack. In fact, it will rattle if I grab the main body of the player in the vertical position and shake it softly. I'm not all that concerned about it though. I figured it was still within the tolerance level based on this particular screen navigation design.

mine is a little loose, i think it's supposed to be like that, if someone would post a video of a "loose screen" we could probably get a better idea of what exactly a "loose screen" is. But in my opinion, it's supposed to be a little loose so that the hooks (or whatever is utilized to keep the screen locked from clicks while in the hold position) do not grind the hinges enough to break when someone tries to click while in the hold position, not sure if that makes sense though.

Mines is a tad loose unlike my U10 and 2g Clix.

Now that is a slightly more useful comparison.

Mine is a bit loose unlocked, but I never leave it unlocked except when holding it in my hand, in which case it isn't shaking around enought to rattle, so I don't care.

If it was loose when on hold, it would probably bother me a little bit.

Exactly. I don't feel the screen on my clix is any lose, then again I use it mostly on the craddle (the remote simply rocks) and when I use it out of it, I engage the lock rather quick. I've not palyed with the D-Click much, i.e not used any Flash games or the like to constantly being clicking the Clix (that sounded aweful!) so I'm not too sure...

The Clix is supposed to be loose. That is the purpose of the player's design. If the screen were not loose, then the four sides of the screen would not work. Which is exactly what the HOLD button does. It pushes against the screen so you can't accidentally click it.

My 4GB Clix is loose, but not loose to the point where it rattles when you shake it. I am sure nobody is going to be shaking their Clix anyway. So why does it matter?

But have you ever used a U10 which generally have tightly fixed screens? They're in no way loose, yet that was the original clix design and the screen clicks fine.

Considering I have a 2Gigger, maybe they and the U10 share the same screen mounting. Maybe this was changed for the 4Giggers?

I realized about the loose in my 4gb when a friend bought a 2gb Clix.
It feels a way better.
