VD is very powerful and complex, but it also means more things can go wrong. At thing point, I can't really tell you what went wrong, as that will need me set in front of your computer and debug it. Just keep to Iriverter for now, and try to tweak VD around to see if one particular setting maybe responsible to the situation.

i was starting over from scratch with VD again and i noticed something

when i try to audio compress ,with the 3.98 lame mp3 installed, i dont see 44100Hz,128kbps,CBR, stereo.... there isnt even any 44100hz.... only when i check the box to "show all formats" so i see this option

and later when i try to save it to avi... it says it cannot save because the audio compression is not right

so im thinking i probably missed this and clicked on 48000hz instead of 44100hz before and it didnt work in the clix...

so now im confused, why isnt 44100hz in lame mp3?? is it suppose to show up without me checking the "show all format" box???

im going to try 32000 hz, 96kbps CBR, stereo and see if that works

No, it wasn't the problem with Lame or VB. The audio stream of the video file you're trying to encode doesn't support the conversion. Instead of selecting a higher setting, you must go for a lower setting.

You should double check the characteristics of input content.
If you are trying to convert 22KHz audio, it is useless to make it 44KHz!
44KHz is a "maximum" value.

Same goes with video framerate. If the source is 30fps (or 29.9), go for 15. If the source is 24, go for 12! This is by the way an issue with iriverter, you need to create a special profile to change the target frame rate.

And if the source is 10 fps, it is even worth to make it 15

I keep it simple. I find videos that have been optimized for iPods and use iriviter to convert them. They come out perfect every time.

You must have missed it on the original post. The audio compression must be set to LameMP3. Other won't work.

onepie, iriverter has 128kbps as the maximum for the clix audio and three times as much for video.

does anyone know if mediacoder can conver .flv (flash) files to the clix file format, the website says it can code to .flv, but i don't see that it says from .flv

Firefox + video downloader2.0 plug-in + Youtube = a lot of .flv files.

It can be either 2 things:

First, It could be the error from the original audio stream. There is nothing I know to fix this.

Second, it could be your setting/codec. Make sure you have LameACM, not any other mp3 codec. You can also try older version of LameACM. Usually I just left the audio conversion setting to 'no change', but try other to find if this could help.

Does mediacoder use mencoder too (as iriverter)? If so then select All Files from the file types drop down menu.
