Cool WMP11 not compatible with U10 1gb
After playing around with the new WMP11 I have discovered one small bug. When I connect my u10, Windows recognizes it and asks what I would like to do. I ask to sync with WMP11 and it opens WMP11. But... WMP11 does not see the player. It asks to connect player.
I reverted to WMP10 and all is happy, as happy as that is.

Anyone else?

BTW, WMP11 appears to be little more than a new skin and the iTunes style link to URGE. Not dissappointed, just underwhelmed.

1.27 sounds about right. I ask because I have seen other people using their U10 with WMP11 so it couldn't be a universal thing.

im sync with WMP11, but i cant transfer any files except audio
and i cant even roll bak (which means if i uninstall wmp11, my comp wont be able to recognize my player wit wmp10), this is makin me really mad, i cant even put canon rock video today

After rolling back to WMP 10, uninstall the U10 from device manager and then reinstall it. You will need to have it plugged in to do this, so just remove then unplug and replug.

i already tried that, its not workin 4 me and i did plug u10 in too

Did you uninstall both "Windows Media Player 11" and "Windows Media Format 11 runtime" and then reboot after?

yes, ive tried system restore also, none of them work
maybe only u10 users get this error... i dunno wat 2 do x.x

Edit:
hey nvm, this time i uninstalled the device b4 uninstallin wmp11 and now it works fine
sowie 4 trouble

I tried to with my U10 and WMP11 but all of my music is "unknown". I fiddled with it for a while. deleted stuff and sync'd it back and all of a sudden i could use the WMP11 by album, genre, etc. but then i disconnected the U10 and connected it back and it went back to "unknown". grrr. Also, the tagging is pissing me off.

wmp11 and u10
I WAS HAVING TROUBLE WITH WMP11 AND U10 1GB BUT I THINK I HAVE FOUND A FIX!

im not sure about this but it appers that my mtp u10 has some kind of UMS element . i went to device manager and reinstalled the mtp driver for my u10. reconnected and now there are 2 icons in my computer. one is the old mtp logo, same as with wmp10. the other is the wmp11 logo and when you click on it the next folder is called "FAT16 file system". it is no recognised in wmp11 also.

unfortunately it appears that the fat16 file system still wont accept any non compatible files, so not true ums. hope this helps someone somwehere

BAM!! You nailed it. I went to device manager and updated the driver for my PORTABLE DEVICE. A new MTP driver was recently released. After I rebooted the u10, WMP11 found the device and synced my files effortlessly. I have not messed around much more but it appears to work.

What kind of trouble are you having?

Maybe ur windows doesn't the most recent updates, and ur iriver as well try running the iriver updater,the firmware is 1.28

Correct, the latest MTP firmware ( 1.28 ) has been updated for WMP11

i had the same problem with wmp 11 and my u10 i went back to wmp 10 and it worked fine, my new problem is this i got a new computer with vista on it and it comes with wmp 11 is there a way for me to go back to wmp 10 on a vista machine?
