Where to buy iRiver accesories in the UK

such as car chargers?

They sell them on iRiverAmerica, but not on iRiverNordic.

I bought mine from AMP and didn't get car charger/cassete adaptor

I *think* the stuff for the PJB100 is compatible with the iHP series. Would be a good idea to get a second opinion though. If I'm right, you would be able to buy your stuff from here:

Let me know if you find a car charger.

I only received my H140 yesterday, and I'm already fretting about being without it for ten days while I'm camping in August!

richardb115 - Same here - away for three weeks in a campervan.
I've invested in a Maplins battery pack (see another thread) to see me through - I should be able to get my hands on AAs everywhere.

I saw a post (ISTR on iRiver's own forums, but don't hold me to it) suggesting that Maplin's charger (code L17AR) works just fine. It's £7.99.

I can't say I've tested it for myself, as I haven't actually got my H140 yet - Saturday, hopefully

I found my old PJB100 car charger thingy. Perhaps with this information, someone can confirm whether it's compatible with the iHP series.

HanGo electronics co ltd
Model: JBA-100
Manufacturer: LEAD Technology
INPUT: 13.8VDC
OUTPUT: 5VDC, 2A
FUSE: 250V, 2.5A

I vaguely remember a friend saying that it works with the iHP but am not prepared to recommend it without further backup

I got my car charger and cassette adapter from Sainsbury's for £20. I can't remeber the make, but they only sell one. The cassette adapter works really well and the power adapter has loads of adapters to work with other stuff too! Highly reccomended!

With an external battery pack NiMh batteries should be used, 4*1.25v= 5v which is the input voltage for the H140, plus NiMh batteries have a higher amp/hour rating than Alkalines with a lower voltage drop off.
If you use Alkaline batteries the external battery pack might not work until the pack output voltage drops below the 5v threshold, output voltage with four Alkaline batteries 4*1.5v=6v.
