iMP-550 Ogg Bitrate restriction removed with modded firmware
I came across this website from a link at hydrogen audio:
http://www.mp3-upgrade.narod.ru/ehacked.htm There are hacked firmwares posted for various iMP models, but the one that excited me most was the one for imp-550 that lifts the 96kpbs restriction on Ogg bitrates, so you're able to enjoy Ogg at lower bitrates - up to 32kpbs. I tested it and it works for sure! But I found the sound quality at 64kpbs was a bit disappointing....mus ic a bit muffled and loss of bass. So I'm sticking to my 112kpbs (Ogg quality 3) Try it and see! Last edited by Blutin : July 28th, 2007 at 05:02 PM. |
