iMP's and amps
I am curious as to amps and hooking them up for use with the optical out on imp-550. Does anyone do this successfully and does it make a real difference with the sound. I have been reading some threads on head-fi about the optical out on 550 not being a 'true' optical lineout and therefore it colours the sound you output to an amp. so that worries me a little.
I just bought a pair of Yuin PK1 earphones knowing they are high impedance and require amps to get maximum performance, but was just curious to hear what they sounded like unamped plugged into my 550. Well they sound great except i have to boost the volume levels way up to around 25 for them to have decent impact. Sooo.....does anyone here use an amp with any of the IMPs and how's the sound - sonic wonders? what do you recommend .....
