SlimX repairs?
Hello all. I love my SlimX players (two 550, one 900) and am trying hard to keep them alive. Even with multi-gig portables, sometimes you still want to spin up a CD away from home, right? Unfortunately one of the iMP-550 units had an accident that broke the hinge. It still plays if I hold it just right but is not too stable.
iRiver USA support no longer repairs *anything* out of warranty. Nor can they direct me toward third party repair facilities. Does anyone know where I might be able to have this player repaired? Or is it a lost cause? |

Go to an electrical store and ask if there are any hifi/stereo service centres nearby.
Once I dropped my Philips discman and tore the lid clean off, ribbon and all. It was a pretty cheap fix at a local repairer, and it's worked fine since. They're typically lower-tech than DAPs, and should be easier to service.
