Which iMP's the best?

Hi all. Lately I've been thinking about getting a CD player and of course I come to iRiver as I always do. But there are so many models of the iMP series and their descriptions and features all look the same to me.... can anyone tell me which one's best in terms of features, durability, sound quality, etc?

I like the IMP-550 - great build quality, powerful sound, OGG support (w latest firmware). The radio is pretty good as well. One caveat is the remote. The headphone jack is recessed so either one uses the sennheiser PX100 (a perfect fit) or uses an adapter cable which may be tough to find.

Best portable cd layer soud ever

Imp 550 is best. Together with koss porta pro has perfect sound. I like to use it with eqvalizer (user: 50/+6db, 200/-3-6db or flat). No one is better ( sony panasonic philips... ).

I've had the iRiver2, the 350 and now the 550 and until they come out with a slimmer smaller model i'm sticking with the 550. so yeah that's the best!

I believe the iFP899 was the best they ever did.

Nice design, great sound, fast loading via USB2, 1GB space for about 200 songs, included radio with recording function, line in recording, long playback time with one AA battery you can get on nearly every edge of the world...

I got mine for 3 years now, and I still use it very often. Okay, its display suffered a bit since it fell down on the floor several times, but besides that it works as fine as it did on its first day.

Cheerio

Lars

I've had all SlimX models but the famous 350 and I have to say that the 550 is the best one; even against its slightly better-sounding counterpart the 900. The 550 has a better body (metal all around), optical out for all formats, a 32-MiB buffer (as opposed to the 16 found in the 900), a more pleasing shape of the unit, good battery life even out of the internals. I suppose the best combo would be as follows: iMP-550 unit & iMP-900 remote & battery adaptor.

Any more questions? Ask me.
