quality of imp400 vs imp550?

i only owned the imp350 and imp400. apparently they both sound the same. but the imp550 have a new chip. someone actaully said the imp550 sound worse than the previous. maybe because of giving it longer battery life while decreasing the quality like many cd players company are doing these day. i dont think this is the fact, can someone who have both the imp350 or imp400 and imp550 verify? would have gotten the imp550 but i wasnt sure at the moment. when i bought the imp400 its more expensive than the imp550, the red version still is now. strange.

i have read about some people get "no disk errors" on their imp 550. i dont know what they have been doing to their cd player, but it could be a bad batch. i am currently deciding on whether buying an imp 400 or 550. i like the imp 550, but im afraid of getting a defective one.
