I'm afraid never. It was discontinued in Europe, so I bought an iMP-700 when it was available.

I'd be satisfied without the tuner. Can't seem to get anything here on the other side of the pond.

BTW, I bought the Harry Potter CD series with Stephen Fry from Amazon UK and the shipping was $83. Didn't mind because I couldn't get that version here in the States either. Must be a conspiracy. :-/

Later.

For some odd reason, iRiver seems to have discontinued ALL if their CD players (they only provide support for existing models now).

Yeah, I suppose so. I was looking for a CD player with different format capabilities, .mp3, .ogg, etc. Any others someone might recommend?

Thanks!

It's really a shame that iRiver pretty much stopped their CD line. In their flash section, the T- & U-series is nice, as (I think) they support Ogg Vorbis to the fullest (-q10). I was hoping for a remake of the iFP-1099 (or whatever that camera-flash-audio device that had a camera in it was, that only held 512 MB instead of 1 GB), but none yet.

It seems that besides the T- & U-series, as well as the H-series (if anything truly new's coming out for _it_), iRiver is changing. I'm really not looking forward to these new devices that have big flashy screens on them and deal mostly with video. No point in a 10-cm -screen device that has a HDD and only plays DivX, SVCD, VCD, & MP3/WMA/Ogg Vorbis that costs about 300 USD when you can get a portable DVD player for 1/3 of that and probably handles most of that, plus JPEG & BMP.

Well, I'm somewhat sad about these developments. I had done some research trying to find a nice CD player for my wife and have promised her one since May 13th, her birthday. She's still waiting. Got her a good set of phones for one though. <g>

I am wanting to obain something comparable but have about lost interest in researching any other manufacturers. Might someone give me a heads-up what I might focus on instead?

Appreciate all the information so far!
