I've had heaps of cameras and the only one's I have liked have been Canon.

In terms of digital, I have a ixus 5i or something which is tiny - it's basically just point and click, no nonsense, no optical zoom, but great pictures. It was a present, but if I'd bought one myself I would have got the canon ixus 700. I also have a fujifilm s304 which is rubbish. i've got a couple of film based slrs, including my fave canon 300. Now saving for the canon 350D which looks awesome. I also have a minolta film based aps camera which is crap. I have never been disappointed by canon.
