550 heating up :(

Hi ,
I just bought myself a iRiver - 550 today .
As soon as i reached home , i plugged in the DC adapter
and connected the player , and started it up. The
player seems to be running fine without any porblems
at all.......but after like 5 mins , a strange smell
started to originate from the player and its remote ,
ie the type when electronic devices heat up !!

so i just unplugged the entire thing and put it back
the box , didnt bother to charge the batteries as
the scenario could get worse.

This is very odd , as the place i bought the player from have never encountered such a issue and are clueless about it.

This being my first player , i dont have any idea
about the finer details of devices..now is this a
normal thing, or i need to get it replaced ??

please advice , asap
thanks

I would say get it replaced. Its definatly a faulty unit. Take it back to the shop you bought it from.
