Why doesn't my new remote work with iLyrics?

I got a new (2nd hand) remote off AMP for my iMP-550 recently. My old one could display lyrics when I had a song with the lyrics matched into it.

My new one can't do this, and when I play a track thats supposed to have lyrics the player freezes up and al lI cAn hear is the CD spinning and the battery shoots down.

Suggestions?

maybe is a faulty remote. since its 2nd hand.
does your older remote still function? if it does try it again?

if your older remote doesnt work:

since ur remote "died" then, you would not have a way to charge ur player, try using an wall for power.

I'd suggest finding a friend with a similar remote, and trying his remote on your player and your remote on his. If the problem moves around with the remote, than you found your problem, if it stays with the unit (lyrics don't work with his/her remote) then you've got something wrong with your unit -- but I'd try the CD/Files in his units to make sure. I'd check for a firmware update as well.
